The Observatory of Forests, Energy and Society (hereinafter the BES Observatory) is a group of researchers belonging to the Instituto Forestal of the Ministry of Agriculture (Chile), it studies different dimensions of the residential energy transition analyzing households energy consumption, energy poverty, and the effects on the environment and ecosystems, from a transdisciplinary approach.
The main objective of the BES Observatory is to generate strategic knowledge for decision-making in the public and private space, by spreading in to the different. To achieve this objective, research and development initiatives are implemented, and national and international collaboration networks are established with researchers and organizations in both: the public and private spheres.
