Energy Efficiency

“Calefacción eficiente”: the series of talks will be held online

The series of talks “Calefacción Eficiente” (Efficient Heating) will take place on April 22 and 23 at 10.30 am, featuring nine expert speakers on energy efficiency.

This new version aims to inform about different issues: what is happening with the Atmospheric Decontamination Plans at national level, how the pellet industry is preparing for this winter, what are the results of projects committed to thermal efficiency, and what is the efficiency of the new heating systems in the regions of La Araucanía, Los Ríos, and Los Lagos.

Alejandra Schueftan, manager of INFOR Los Ríos, will present the project “Mapa Térmico, plataforma de apoyo a la eficiencia energética en las viviendas” (Mapa Térmico, support platform for housing energy efficiency), which involves the development of a support system for the industry of energy efficiency at the residential level. The web platform http://mapatermico.infor.cl/ provides technical information on energy efficiency of the houses of Valdivia in a simple and visual way.

How does Mapa Térmico work?

The platform carries out an energy diagnosis of the houses of the city, based on several elements: the collection of thermal images of roofs in different neighborhoods of the city, the record of building typologies by neighborhood, the conduction of surveys on houses features, heating use profiles, socio-economic features of households, and the measurement of houses temperature during winter.

With this information, a preliminary evaluation of the energy performance of the houses is made, the critical points to be improved are determined, and the potential energy saving that can be obtained should structural improvements be implemented is established.

Thus, the platform http://mapatermico.infor.cl/ allows users to get aware of the energy performance of their houses, to find the most suitable structural solutions for their requirements, to connect with an extensive business and professional directory, and to get information about public and private financing tools that are available for the implementation of any improvement.

Likewise, institutions can have access to maps of the city with data on user profiles, technical features of houses, and heating use profiles, which will help to target different public programs.

The event will take place on April 22 and 23 at 10.30 am via Zoom. Click on the link below to attend: bit.ly/2QzAbut.
